RIP Chuck Brown (1936-2012)

Chuck Brown, the Godfather of Go-Go music, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday May 16, 2012 at John Hopkins University Hospital. He will surely be missed by everyone.
I first heard go-go music in 1985 at a party I attended. Found out later that one of the songs played at the party was by Chuck Brown and the song was "Run Joe". I liked it then, but I became a real fan of go-go music in 1995 (I think) and starting listening to several different go-go artists including Chuck Brown.

I have always been a fan throughout the years, but from 2005 to 2010 is when I got the chance to see him perform Live and each show was well worth it:
2010 - Carter Barron Amphitheatre - Chuck Brown, Let it Flow Band and Secret Society

2009 - 9:30 Club - Chuck Brown B-day celebration, Huggy Lowdown and Little Benny (when the street was named after Chuck)

2008 - Strathmore - Chuck Brown and Huggy Low Down

2008 - Merriweather Post Pavilion - Summer Spirit Festival - Chuck Brown, Estelle, The Roots and Jill Scott

2007 - Chuck Brown and Little Benny
2006 - Carter Barron Amphitheatre - Chuck Brown and the SOS Band
2005 - DC Armory - Chuck Brown, Rare Essence and EU

Just wanted to say that Chuck Brown's music will always live with us, because even when he was not performing, we would still listen to and jam to Chuck as if we were at our own personal concert. RIP.
You will be missed, but you will never be forgotten.
